British Romantic Poetry(36151-01)

Course Description: This is an introduction to the British Romantic Poetry. The canonical poems by the six major poets are the main targets, but some less known poems will also be read in the class. Main emphasis falls on a close reading of the key texts such as "London," "Tintern Abbey," and "Ode to a Nightingale," but recent theoretical issues will be explained in lectures and class discussions.

Text: Norton Anthology II(7th edition) or any other downloadable texts from electronic sources

Evaluation: Attendance and Class Participation 10%, 2 papers 20% Mid-term Exam 35%  Final Exam 35%
